Four nationally recognized techniques to disarm agonizing images in the mind:

Those deadly negative images locked inside our heads...Much of the time emotional pain is magnified terribly by the image(s) fixed in, almost chained into, our brain's memory pictures of the events that caused the pain.  This applies to the physical moment if we were there or what we saw through TV or the moment we realized someone was hurt. What to do?[The techniques are adapted and come to us from NLP and one other author.  NLP is Neourolinguistic Programming, a school of therapy that uses the same ability of the brain that saves images to alter those images, to reduce their impact, often considerably. The particular NLP book, written by Steve and Connirae Andreas, called HEART OF THE MIND.] The best thing to remember about pain: The waves of pain will begin to subside, and these techniques will help it happen. Like the tide, (the tide is an image that is frequently used to describe receding pain,) waves of pain begin to occur less frequently, less intensely, and don't last as long.
